My name is Licia Preitano. I was
born in Messina, and after taking a degree in philosophy, I moved to
Friuly, where I have always worked and where I currently live. I went in for many hobbies,
mostly dealing with art, becouse I am fascinated by anything that is
creative and enjoy new challenges.
When young I used to love dolls, when I became an adult I stopped liking
them becouse the lack of expressiveness typical of their faces scared me.
This is the reason why, since some years, I devoted myself to the creation
of dolls; but my dolls have the peculiarity not to be
“ toy-dolls ” or “ Baby-faced-dolls “, on the contrary, they are
“ Lady faced-dolls ”, each of which expresses its own personality
through its countenance and its dress.
Each doll is
the result of a remarkable study: the clothes are very complexed, often
fully hand made; I taugt myself how to embroider, to cut, to treat hairs
and how to make the accessories.
